Thoughts Walking Within and Without: Spiritual Journeys and Eco-Conscious Reflections

Gholami’s research focuses on exploring the intersection of places and cartographies of imagination in cultural products, films, literature, and the arts. Specifically, she is currently delving into spiritual journeys and metaphorical walks within the Eastern Sufi tradition for her individual project. As an eco-enthusiast, she works on the intricate world of Ecospaces, spaces of care, represented in literary and visual texts. She explore ‘Quotidian idiosyncratic intimacies’ (Buell, 2009) that we pass through while existing in the world in her academic path. But she also immerses herself in spiritual journeys and ‘walking Fikr’, literally translating as walking thoughts as a person from the Orient. The concept reminds us of the fluidity and complexity within our walking practices, perhaps alluding to Donna Haraway’s notion of tentacular thinking. Gholami introduces…
